What is citability.org?
Citability is a group of people that are asking that publicly available government documentation be citable on the web on a paragraph level. Our petition is here.
We believe in leading by example. We have some ideas on how to accomplish this on our wiki. We want to create the OpenSource tools to make it free and easy for any governments to do so! We are committed to creating tools in all the major Open Source platforms. We are also creating internal scrapers and parses for those entities that have too much capital committed to proprietary systems.
Therefore we are doing a codeathon. (http://dccodeathon.com) At this event in DC, we will write these tools and showcase them to government! We are hoping to have some friends in Government present and perhaps even showcasing these new tools on their systems!
